Am I being overly subtle?

I have always derived much pleasure from subtle writing, instances where I am able to hide my message within a vanilla piece of writing. Someone commented that it’s like “Gak san dau ngau”, directly translated as “mountain blocked bull fight”. It means the real issue concealed behind a fa├žade. Gak-san-dau-ngau then implies that you must see beyond the mountain in order to see the bull fight, i.e. the real issue.

Regrettably, I am beginning to wonder whether I am being overly subtle. I wonder if I am putting up a mountain so big, that the enticement of the bull fight is overlooked. Or perhaps people would rather see the beautiful scenery of the mountain, than to indulge in a bloody bull fight.

See, the above two paragraph are akin to putting up mountain already… I seriously need to be more direct…

So yeah,
The Jacke Story I put up yesterday was not about money or people being lavish by having 3 maids or medical check up being important. It’s about whether you think like Jacke, believing that you can entirely distant yourself from the ruckus.

What ruckus? Well, you should read
The Jacke Story. I cannot be removing the mountain entirely.

i do think that writing subtly is a great form of expressing your ideas as this would let imaginations run while instead of getting the idea directly. the only time when you have to be direct is when giving orders.

Continue with the Zewt way. If you change your way, then its not unique anymore.

LOL!! The matter of having a lot of money, or having three maids is a personal choice. We shouldn't pick on that. If we shouldn't get [ersonmal and respect people for their choices, then what else can we look at? At the bull fight lah: people like Jacke who does not care to vote out an unjust government until his own ignorance comes back to bite him.

Maybe, some readers were too concerned with other people's business. whether they have one or three maids, whether they store a lot of money or live penniless... that's why they couldn't see the bull fight.

Yew T, u really think they dun get it?

they juz intentionally/ unintentionally skip it

they dun have the concept of democratic society or rather the whole picture on how a system work, hence they dun c the leakage/the importance of it

There are lots of influences in a persons life which causes him to behave as such. But partly it also depends on the person.

In this earth, everyone is a critic and a boss (the no one will be the boss of me attitude). The severity does differ. Most ppl would prefer to skip formalities and get away with 'crime' where they can.

It is also coz of these factors, many societies never advance. No one is willing to be involved to make things work. No one wants to get their hands dirty. Everyone wants the smooth ride without any hiccups and by-pass all their problems.

Each one of us are a part of society and each of us need to play our part for a better tomoro where we can all enjoy.

Hmmm... Wonder if I said too much.

Your jacke story make sense, but cases or situation like this is unavoidable whether or not the country is free from corruption. No place in this world is a fairyland.

Everyone has their own opinion and even if that person thinks the same way jacke does, it doesn't mean that he / she doesn't care. Maybe this person is just too tired to care too much, or already gave up caring.

Aiyah, the message you're trying to send in your previous post was too subtle-lah perhaps.

Many of your readers are young flers who haven't learn the art of reading between the lines yet.

Just keep up the good writing friend. You are needed to educate the young ones. Don't give up caring

As Einstein once said - "A human being is a part of a whole, called by us _universe_, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest... a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty."

Cheers lah...

It's the Malaysian education system. These days people have to be told what to think and/or understand.

But it was a good story and very apt for our times. Lots of Malaysians think that politics is not relevant to them.

I like doing this type of writing too. But sometimes, there's no logic at all in my writing.

The Jacke Story - nicely done, dude!

"sau dou" ....I'll need to look harder for the signs to go around the mountain.
Also, here shows the quick sample, that most people takes things on the surface.
This results from our education to train followers rather than leaders and creative thinking.
