Most disheartening...

Following my entry yesterday, a dose of co-incidence led to a video posted in facebook. It was a video about a robbery which happened in Cheras (I think) and it was captured over the victim’s CCTV. I have actually seen that clip, and I believe many of you would have seen it too.

As I browsed through the comments, I encountered upon a very sickening story. After reading it, I actually left a comment asking if the story is true…

We received many such stories in our mail box and it was only natural for me to ask if it’s true. The reply from the person who made the comment was:-

Like what Helen commented in my previous post, it is the “over-whelming sense of helplessness” in such tragic scenario that is most disheartening.

But then again, I am sure many still see this country as the best place in the world and ignore the rest as we have the best nasi lemak, best char kuey teow and best bak kut teh.

The "ask not what your country can do for you" phrase from JFK's inaugural speech has often been misquoted as a support of government no matter what.

Whereas the real meaning he tried to convey was it's the people who had given their sacred trust to the elected government and the govt should now work for the betterment of its citizens in return. It has to be read from the whole to understand his message in context.

It is sad that after more than 50 years, we have come to lived in fear. It's certainly not the way to live our lives. For ourselves and our children.

Yup, I have seen that video and I felt so helpless as this can happen to anyone of our family who are living in Malaysia. The helpless feeling is very uncomfortable.

There are so many incidents that lead me to feel sad that I am a citizen of this country sometimes, like when you call a few times to a same government department asking same info, different people give you different answer, so which is which??? so confusing! Who should we believe??? aren't you guys working in same government department? Or when you have a lousy neighbor who burnt rubbish every once a week, or who had their business lorries (please notice I used plural form!) and parked at residential area and always turn on the engine at around 5pm for an hour and when you complaint this to newspaper, police, or to the party that governs the garden, no one even take action or reply to your concern...

I am so disappointed at our country!

Zewt, I have friends who are so naive and think that these does not exist in malaysia. No one will realise how serious this is until they actually experienced it. All these happened to my family and friends... it's heart breaking to see this happening in our country. We are living in fear.

My uncle's bungalow in Klang was broken into at roughly 3 am. 5 robbers came in, hypnotized the dogs, two robbers tied up the maid with extension wire. 2 started to ransacked the house. Then, the wife woke up and went to the kitchen only to find a man armed with parang coming after her. She shouted and used broom to hit the guy. The husband heard the scream and came to rescue the wife. Another robber came and slash the husband. He endured some slashes and managed to overpower the guy. He was bleeding and his son was too afraid when his dad shouted at him to chop the thief's hands off.

The robbers fled. They called the police. The wife sent the husband and son to hospital. The maid waited for police. Before going, the wife remember the iphone was on the table and was not taken. The iphone was gone after the police decided to come 2.5 hours later at 5.30 am.

You say leh?
