Magic machines?

Can you see them? There are plenty of such dreamers around; those who loudly proclaim “They will be voted out in the next GE”. I think they are still living in fantasy. The same was said prior to the previous GE, and I think the same will be spoken after the next GE… and the next GE… and the next…

Today’s news strengthen my case:-
Machines for voting purposes. Wow…Voting to be done by a click of a button! If magic can be done to numbers that involve billions of dollars in financial statements, I wonder what kind of magic can be done in these machines. We are talking about the super magical election commission.

I wonder who is looking forward to the next erection now…

If machines is used for GE, we might end up having the kind of protest that Bangkok is experiencing now.

Or maybe they will buy the machines, and a week b4 the election they will abolish the idea and go back to paper ballots (remember the indelible ink?)

I'm sick of their election news! With so many by-elections, I wonder who's laughing at us now!

This government will do anything by whatever means to cling to power. Using machines to help us vote? Damn. i may be stupid but certainly not naive to believe that. All the statements about how secure and reliable those machines may be are just bulls***.

What's stopping anyone to program it to get the desired results if they want to, right? Yes, results in favour of the current government as most of us know how our EC works.

In my opinion, it will not happen. If it comes to this, then we're all doomed. All of us may as well be slave automatons to the powers-that-be.

But at times, i have my doubts too...

leyaw - hahaha, i certainly remember. but i dont think it will have the same fate as the indeliable ink. this one favours them i believe.

-eiling- - well, we can choose to ignore. but in this case, ignorance is not bliss. and at times, ignorance is not within our grasp.

joshua wong - Yes, if it does happen, we are doomed. But then again, are not doomed already?
