Some blogging thoughts and CNY greetings

Blogging is getting increasingly tough. First you make friends, but somehow, you will also make enemies along the way. Some will love you, some will be neutral, but some may also hate you.

Perhaps it is time to take a breather. I am very sure Jules will be happy that I am considering this.

It will be a good time to ponder and re-assess things during this festive period. Let’s see how things go…

To all Chinese AZAIG readers… Gong Hey Fatt Choy and have a prosperous new year. Stay safe on the roads! To the rest… happy holidays!

Zewt,
How true. When I first started blogging I thought I will be making lots and lots of friends. Never in my wildest dream will I ever envision to make a single person angry or cross with me.
Sad to say the worst thing happened so from being a friend I became a no friend. Not that I lose anything by that reversal of relationship but being a person who loves to be friendly with everybody, I feel real sad with the turn of event. Anyway I will continue blogging just to continue recording things so that my future generations will learn a thing or two from my blogs. If there are others who like reading it, well and good.
Remember zewt there are people out there who love to read what you write so just think of them and forget those others.
Happy Chinese New Year to you and all readers of AZAIG.

That's very true, Zewt. We can never please everyone. Sometimes, I feel restricted to blog freely because of fear of offending some people or creating misunderstanding. Well, I still hope you continue to blog because you write very well. Happy CNY to you.

your blog has been a joy to read. it's been educational for me as well.

Take it easy bro. Blogging, like life, should be fun. Have a great CNY.

What ? Blogging to make friends?! Crazy.

Blogging is to curse and swear at things that gets on your nerves, not to make friends.

Wishing you and your family a very prosperous new year! Take it easy and hope you have a great celebration in London as well! :D

Congratulations on the wedding and have a great time in london & paris whether its the honeymoon or work.

And its true, you can't please everyone on the topics you blog about, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and should be open minded about what other people say. so either way, you've done a good job in capturing your audience and love every post in the blog!

Have a wonderful CNY too =)

Yea, i concede that we can never please the whole world. Haha. Exchanges of constructive thoughts and opinion is good as long as it doesn't turn ugly. I hope i didn't give u too much of a hard time too. Keep on blogging! Have a blessed Chinese New Year!!

Thanks for the CNY greetings. I extended mine to u earlier, rite? I'm in Penang right now, starving...while everybody else is gorging themselves with food. All shops closed, roads deserted...! It's amazing how something like blogging can affect us whether we like it or not. Despite not knowing commentors personally, their comments do make or break our day, don't you think so?

Don't let them ruffle you. It's your blog & you have every right to do what you want.

Meantime, enjoy your CNY! :D

It's hard to please everyone. Just try to make it your style. It's this unique personality of yours that matters.

I clicked on the link u gv me, but they appeared to be a lot of news links on that page. Which one did you want me to read exactly?

Anyway, Happy CNY!

You are right Zewt. It's getting tougher to be of the same wave length with others nowadays. Time changed, people changed and circumstances changed within such a short period of time.

Anyway, may 2008 Year of Brown Earth Rat brings you lots of Good Health, Happiness and Prosperity! Gong Xi Fa Cai!

And enjoy your fresh marital status in the year of rat. Are u gonna breed/copulate/conjugate like rats too? but u were married before the end of the pig year. So i reckon, lotta zewt juniors coming soon, the 1st one as a rat or an ox perhaps?

wakakaka.. guess what! I landed on your blog and realised smthing. I am your visiter number 131313.

Some says it's PM's lucky number for election. Also reminds me of speculation where the parliment might be desolved around Feb 13 and suggested 1/3 for election.

So.. r u cmg back soon? I dun think you ever wanna miss the "mother" of all elections. :P

~aSstHa~ said...

i think most of the comments above already said wat i want to say but i guess no harm in repeating it...

i'll try to keep it short n sweet (jz got bk fr JB).

in life you can't please everyone. and certain times wen frens u made earlier turn into enemies (or something less harsh) it's not your fault or theirs. it's just that you're both looking at things at a different perspective.

a true fren will realise that there's absolutely nothing wrong with having different opinions. in fact it's the same as any relationship. if you overcome ur differences then you've found a true friend/soulmate...etc.

if not, you jz move on with ur life even though that path takes u away from that person. no point having to change yourself jz to please others as you can't please everybody. as long as you stay true to yourself i think that's all that matters.

happy CNY zewt *hUgZ*

blogging became tougher cos there are ppl who bcom more famous and have a lot of supporters and then when u got big support and fame... wat u get is politic. and politic is dirty. We can't simply voice out our opinion anymore. sigh...
I feel the same like u zewt.

Sabrina Tan said...

hello there. saw u fm Twisted Heel's blogs and also fm other blogs, so thought i'd dropped by. :D
First and foremost, Happy New Yr! :)
(In relation to this post, you might well have changed your mind by now)
Well, it's part of the blogging process. It's similar to real life in a sense that some people will like you, and some don't. And if they don't like you just because you are being who you are, then well, perhaps they're not really meant to be in your circle anyway.
But anywho, enjoy your time in London. I believe you might like it, it's quite different working in a developed world! Suddenly you'll find that different rules apply :)

zewt said...

puvanan - hahaha... 13 is a good number for our pak lah apparently... he would have loved that. you're right... i will definitely make it back if i can. my dates are set... hope the election will be held after my return.

aSstHa - yeah.. i know what you mean. its easy to say... this is my blog, everything is up to me etc etc etc... but ... sigh... thanks anyway.

gracieq - :)... i think it has been a while since i last felt witty.

littlepolaris - yeah... i think politics are beginning to creep into the world of blogging. when ppl take sides... that's politics...

pavlova - hi there... welcome. yeah... i think i will go by a motto i once held dearly.... i would rather you hate me for who i am, than u to love me for who i am not.... damn, i am so going to blog about that!

myop101 said...

hello...

wishing you a joyous new year!

anyway, it is you who pulled me into this blogging world hence you better not quit before i do!...:P

i am restricted by virtual of no blogging allowed at home hence i do most of my blogging from outside my home. i am tempted many many times to just do it but i know it is not right to disobey my parents...

my personal take is this...

if we believe in something strong enough and knowing it is the right (but tough) thing to do, we have to pursue it simply because the wrong cannot be made right by us doing nothing about it... despite the unpopularity of some things i write, i still write. it is not the readers i am too worried about, blogging merely acts as a record, reminder and perhaps, some vestige of me which i hope will linger on after i am gone. in life, we will step on someone shoes whether we are intentional or not. Also, as a Christian, we are called to be a peculiar people for the gospel sake. hence intentional or unintentional offending do take place by merely saying,"I believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of the God who chose to be man, pitch his tent with us, live and died for our sake and rose 3 days later."

remember what you wrote about your mom? remember what you said that it serves as a reminder to you? that article actually made me consider blogging (but still no guts to do it then).

so friend, don't be too worried la. as long as what you write is reasonable and forms your opinion on what you perceive around you, you should likewise allow others to say what they want and take note you can't please everyone...:)

lastly (yes, i am long winded as usual), the fact that some people actually respond negatively to what you said indicated that you are causing impact to their lives even if it is merely 20 seconds. who is to say your article like a flap of a butterfly will not someday cause hurricane in the minds of others?

we are part of the chain brother...:) so be encouraged!...:)

again, don't quit before i do!...:P

Allan Yap & Nigel A. Skelchy said...

Gong Xi Fa Cai dude. And don't ever try to please everyone. It's not being true to yourself nor will you benefit anyone in the long term. Funny isn't it? As Asians we're taught to be so considerate of others that it sometimes seems counterproductive to be so self centred as being true to your heart. But without that "self centredness" you would never have touched so many. Keep it up. Looking forward to reading more. Take care.

Allan & Nigel

zewt, I agree. Infact blogging is about social networking. Is for the blogger to share their interest. However, it is very tuff to make expression over wording. When we express sympathy to other sometime he/she might interpret in different ways and endup he/she thought you look down on him/her
