Dunwanna blog about it

I really dunwanna blog about it. I mean… what’s the point? There’s certainly no joy. Don’t believe me? Ask Lina. Ahhhh…see what I mean, half of you don’t even know what I am talking about. Those who know probably don’t care. So why should I blog about it? I dunwanna blog about it.

Also, there’re quite a number of overseas readers who frequent my blog and they probably think Malaysia is a very beautiful country and everyone is happy and all. Why should I ruin their perception of our country by letting them know that there are people here who don’t really have freedom of religion despite the constitution says they do? Nope… I dunwanna blog about it.

Ah yes… that issue of freedom of religion doesn’t even concern me at all. I mean, I am happy, I can choose my religion, I am allowed to practise my religion, who cares about others? Who cares if
something like this happen? Not my problem at all, and certainly not your concern. So I dunwanna blog about it.

And who cares if there are actually a few in the local blogosphere starting to do a mini Christianity bashing after the verdict of Lina’s case? They are bashing Christianity, not me. So why bother? So I dunwanna blog about it. And of course, I don't want to be seen as bashing any religion, and I am certainly not bashing any religion... which is why it is important for me not to blog about it. So I really dunwanna blog about it.

Last but not least, blogging about such heavy issue is boring. We would rather read about jokes, food, sex and so and so got a new car and so and so is angry with so and so, not to mention these 3 laws. Those are the more juicy stuff right? There you go… that’s why I dunwanna blog about it.

And since I dunwanna blog about it, I believe you shouldn’t blog about it too. Let us all not blog about it.

P/S: Since all of us are not going to blog about it, go and vote at the pole poll at the sidebar.

since you don't wanna blog about it, i also don't wanna read about it :D lina sure don't en-joy the verdict. i really do not farking understand, how the person that already renounced his/her religion, you still can force her not to.. what's the point? his/her heart/mind/soul no longer believe in it, so what if you insist his/her ic written in what what religion? Or maintain that him/her is still in the religion when he/she is not? this move is just scaring and giving bad coverage for the religion itself rather than potraying good things about it. haih.. haih.. i don't wanna talk about it also zewt :D

eh... u're saying about me! so sad so sad... :(

why do we hv to ruin the foreigners' perception of m'sia?

--- er.... i think all ppl who r concerned of human rights and politics around the world shud hv known about this now, since this news is widely reported by BBC, International Herald Tribune, Reuters and their associates. Why do we hv to cheat the foreigners and cover up the truths at the expense of one's freedom? We're not spreading rumours and slanders! That's my stand. We all hv the right to know the things we ought to know. :)

boring? i love these stuff! maybe i'm one boring dude too... :(

but really appreciate ur zewtpinion! ;)

... but still you blogged about it! Indirectly. :P

"We would rather read about jokes, food, sex and so and so got a new car and so and so is angry with so and so. Those are the more juicy stuff right?"
I agree with this statement, but still, blogging about the issue kyh just did once in a while is kinda interesting, IMHO. Only if once in a while. :D

OK, let's all 'fuggedaboudit'. To some, it is 'joy'ful news, to some it isn't. Other bloggers will take this heavy subject head on. We can throw in our two-cents worth in their blogs.
Meanwhile Zewt, drop by my blog to read something light. If you wanna talk about sex; sure why not? hahaha
I was supposed to blog about food but I did not save that draft and 'poof'- it disappeared into thin air.
P.S. I took that poll, you are my daily drug. ;)
Oh, by the way, I like the colours you have thrown in against the black background. Gives me an idea what coloured blouse I should wear with my black skirt or pants next time. hahaha

Zewt, Have you taken the time to read Malaysian constitution ? I wonder how many of us understand the country where we are the citizen. Read and know what freedom you have, then u blog again ! Not trying to be a sarcastic but a genuine suggestion.

I read about Lina's case briefly in the news here. I have to give her Muslim lawyer a lot of credit to take up the case despite death threats. He/She sure have balls of steel. I really respect that.

In a way, I feel that she'd won. I think that the ripple effect from the coverage of the case opened more eyes and minds about Malaysia than our beloved orang-utans. I commend Lina and her lawyer for their courage and faith to fight for what they believe is right.

I understand what the courts are doing but I don't necessarily agree with it. I think protecting the religion from an unlikely exodus of followers does more damage than good. What's the point in keeping a legion of followers who will jump ship the minute you let them?

I believe all religion teaches its followers to do good. The problem is some people interpret 'good' differently than others.

Hey! Happy half a year since AZAIG! Is this your general moronic post, zewt?

By the way, the "My blog is worth.." sidebar thingy seem to have stalled. Or is that the ceiling price that the gomen will pay to shut you down when you dunwannablog about taboo subjects?

i really dowwan to comment about how i love lina's reply when asked whether she would leave M'sia for good..."It would extremely difficult to exercise freedom of conscience in the present environment"...so i won't la...=) going to take that poll now...!

Jonzz said...

What a lengthy way to say 'I don't want to blog about it'. Ha ha!

Sigh.

*applause applause* A very brilliant way of NOT blogging about an issue and yet still blogging something about it. Simply genius, zewt!

So I'm not gonna add my two cents worth here - since I already put in two cents over at kyh's. *grin*

zewt said...

ah nel - dowan la... already said dunwanna blog about it mah... :P

bongkersz - yup... we all shouldnt read about it even. read other juicy stuff better right? since we already so sam jiu about what's going on... no need to read about it la.

kyh - haha... you are not boring la. read ehon's comment... he is one who is able to catch what i am trying to get at.

day dreamer - no no no... i dunwanna blog about it. did i blog about it? there must have been a mistake ;)

ehon - where got... no message la. i really dunwanna blog about it. :P

BlogDirectory - hi, welcome to AZAIG. yeah... thanks for not putting a reply on this issue. we should all not blog nor talk nor comment about it. doesnt concern us mah... right?

JT - i read that article... will take some time to go through all those nice website. hmmmm... so my blog is your dressing consultant now?

zewt said...

kayatan - Jamy, plenty have been said about the article 11 part of the constitution. while i dont really have an in depth understanding of it, it does guarantee everyone the freedom of religion. however, there is another part of the constitution that defines a malay. that's the tricky part... one that bounds a malay. anyway, it's sensitive, dunwanna blog about it. the thing about constitution and enforcement in malaysia... is that... well... i dunwanna blog about it...

Acrelaine - that's the reality of it here. and soon, you're gonna return right?

Bee Ean Tee - there are actually a lot of muslims who are on lina's side. but the major concern is that they are afraid a favourable verdict for lina will open the floodgates, plenty will come out and renounce their faith. that's something they dun wanna happen.

freethinker - (???) ?

constant craver joe - brain too tired to come up with another teaser :P... anyway, it's also a teaser, dont u think?

flaminglambo - like that i said to Bee Ean Tee, what they are afraid of is that a favourable judgement for lina will open the floodgates for others to come out. it would have been disaster. besides... one blogger told me that if the verdict is favourable... it could have been really ugly.

Jemima - thanks... same to you.

Nice. :-) You're right, for many, they think if they don't give a hoot, the problem will just go away. Ignorance is bliss... and morons are the happiest people on earth. :-P

neno - good that you learn something new today huh...

jaezrel - that's why i dunwanna blog about it.

sooyin - yeah, i am glad you didnt comment about it. i mean, who cares if she cant live in this country with conscience? doesnt matter to us right? so let us all not comment about it. but thanks for taking the poll, that's one thing you should do.
Jonzz - seriously... i dunwanna blog about it. did i say it too lengthily? aiya... i shouldnt have...

alan zed - that's right my friend. i have nothing against my muslim friends either, so long as we respect each other.

rinnah - good... since i dunwanna blog about it.. you should also not comment about it... but i shall read about your comment at kyh's anyway... ;)

Helen - yup... ignorance is indeed bliss. but sometimes, ignorance can also spell the self-destruction. plus... an idle mind is a devil's playground...

narrowband - a hole in their heads? which part already ah? please enlighten. yeah... since you can go on and on about it... then dun need to blog about it lor... err... hope i am making sense.

_butt - yeah la... have to embrace such attitude in order to be malaysian mah... since u know... not easy to be a malaysian. anyway... welcome to AZAIG and hope to see ya around.

Religion has always been a touchy issue with us m'sians isnt it?

Old habits die hard, even in the UK, m'sian students tend blindly accept things silently, even a discussion is hushed.

I dont know where these things would lead to...but for lina, the battle lies ahead. lets keep a close eye.
