5 things I failed to fathom

Number 5
I fail to fathom why some people go online on chat programme and activate the ‘busy’ status. If you are truly busy, why go online? Worse if it’s DND.

Number 4
I fail to fathom why some idiot need to show his ass (covered by underwear nonetheless) in a supposedly peaceful protest rally. Heck, why should there be a concert in the first place?

Number 3
I fail to fathom those people who read the forwarded mail about how Malaysians’ average income is USD5,000 per annum and then complain about petrol being expensive. With an average income of USD5,000 per annum, should you even be buying a car?

Number 2
I fail to fathom why a bunch of ang-moh wannabe artists were asked to sing the Malaysia My Home song and the true blue Malaysian artist called Namawee was not invited. By the way, do you still remember him?

Number 1
I fail to fathom why some Christians can stand up against the devil himself… able to call upon the name of Jesus to cast out demons but they never dare to even shake their head in front of their boss.

I fail to understand what's with the ang-moh wannabe singing the song too! That song doesn't even feel remotely local. It feels like a sellout.

No 5: because on msn, the busy status will not make the window blink blink blink blink blink blink. it will only blink blink. i don't see any button to disable the blink blink blink blink blink blink :(

No 4: even sadder news, that was the highlight of the rally

No 3: no comment

No 2: hate that song

No 1: spirituality against reality :D

msians are a funny bunch. there are a few other things i fail to understand too, like how hard is it to give a signal when u wanna cut into other ppl's lane, or why can't ppl park a lil' further and walk rather than double-parking for their own convenience etc. but i think i need to stop, or else this list will be endless..

Tine said...

#5 I don't understand it either. Why even bother turning the IM on the in the first place if you're busy?

#4 Tadak comment.

#3 Oh I hear about this a lot. Sadly I know people who earn little but still want to get a car. And then they complain about the fuel price hike. Sigh, priorities gone serong.

#2 Yep. Gahmen gone serong.

#1 'Cos the boss more terror than the devil himself. Tee hee :p

SuLee said...

i found myself guilty on number 5 - well but the little annoying window wont keep popping up and i can still chat openly on msn!!

Huei said...

5..Buzy n DND goes out to annoying ppl. but too bad lah..ppl usually fail to notice the buzy n DND sign..they just msg u anyhow..so i is appear offline! =P

4..wait i need to read the news

3..i din get the mail leh..anyway i dun haf car oso! i pinjam car onli! =P

2..HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH i still prefer namewee's ORIGINAL songS

1..i agree tine..the boss is more terror than the devil lah! =P

§pinzer said...

as for no. 5, isn't it quite simple? there are people i need to contact whom i don't have their numbers, and i have to chat with them through MSN.

unfortunately i'm too busy to layan other people, so i put DND so that they won't disturb me la. haha. or know that i won't respond to them!

now shall we exchange msns for more unfathomable thoughts? :P

myop101 said...

er...

Number 5: seriously, i am one of them too... haha... putting the "busy" status doesn't mean I cannot be disturbed la, just that i might not be able to reply... if got juicy gossip i am willing to spare a minute to read one...:P

Number 4: it is called freedom of expression ma. like people curse and swear when they start and end their sentences and pepper it in between. you know they meant every single word they say if they keep saying f**k...:P

Number 3: tsk tsk... motorcycle le? or those using diesel powered generator because TNB cannot connect to their households le? tsk, tsk... kesian you know... so don't la be so mean to them...

Number 2: Isn't it obvious? The Gomen deem namawee's home as Taiwan ma...

Number 1: Hehe. With the devil, you cannot bargain ma. With your boss, there is a "threshold" of "tolerance"...:p

missironic said...

hahahaa..im guilty as charged for Number 5. I'll go online and put the "busy" mode...but i can justify my action. Firstly, I put the busy mode sign because I don't want some irritating people asking me stupid questions which I have to answer ..so put busy mode, they'll go away and I can choose whom to tok to. Secondly, I am busy at tat moment and dun want people to disturb me at tat point. So after done busy-ing, i'll resume on msn...thirdly, though I'm busy at least some of my close frens can see tat im online and they can tok to me whenever they need me (tis i give privilege to them).

Yeah, those are my reasons..quite justified what..heheheee..

I remember namawee but i doubt they put him to sing as will create controversy for them.

Anonymous said...

#5:
That's because I don't want you to disturb me, but I want to disturb my special friends. (Does that even make sense? Nvm)

huntressmoon said...

No.5 = Lol. by putting the status Busy, messages will not pop up suddenly on the windows but instead onto the bar. This will also minimize the sound when you get a message, so when your boss is at the back of you and someone happen to message you. If will only blink at the bar, which is ok. kaver line la

Anonymous said...

No.2 - Did you know that they talked to local artistes and none of them wanted to be a part of it unless they got paid.

Jorji said...

bcuz u r not susceptible to do that things

LOL

Anonymous said...

I fail to fathom why you even bother to try and fathom!!! LOL!!!

Jonzz said...

The busy MSN message is probably reserved for some people but serves as a green light for others, HA HA

Huei said...

ok i finally understand no4

they must be calling out to
*AhEm*anwa..*AhEM*

Tsu Lin + + said...

Good observations Zewt.

#5 : It's because they still want to be "in the loop" on things.

But generally, I agree with you.

Kel said...

no 5 - because they are there to talk to someone which is urgent(eg project mates without the disturbance from others) convenience ma.

no 4 - that is a sign of protest that we had been sodomized the last 50 years by you know who. lol

no 3 - dude, even motorcyclists are affected ok? i for once never drive. take bs(oops i mean bus) or cycle around.

no 2 - in software engineering there is this term called internationalization or i18n. go search it up. so you have to speak their language if you want to send message across. else it would be chicken talking to ducks.

no 1 - simple. their bosses are like god to them. they are the main source of bread and milk or was it butter and milk? life will never change my friend. the only way is for us to adopt it. the other way of course is to gather in a group loud enough to want a change.

sidenote - he asked me to put his no there for that purpose. by the way he is another MBSian.

Kel said...

and to add to your no 3
we are forced to have cars. try waiting for a bus from the sungai nibong bus station one afternoon. ask for one which passes the gabenor's house. you would wait for 6 hours like me.

so do we all take taxis?

Kel said...

to add to juns comment. there is a universal sign used. the middle finger thingy. hahaha. was at pisa the other day. waiting for parking when this guy is driving out. i put the signal and one b*tch came straight into the parking lot and waves her hand. Just so she knows how i felt i gave her the universal sign.

no 1 - maybe we should petition to microsoft. hehehe. wonder if they would be bothered after all. best go for open sources where you can select and personalize.

sorry too many posts(spam) today
euphoric ma

No 5: MSN auto changes to 'Busy' status when Windows Media Player is playing a clip.
By default, the modem is switched on as well when powering up the PC. And since MSN run automatically upon start, most of the time it's left connected without intervention.

So your friend may be watching anime or TV series on full screen at the other end of the screen without realising his/her MSN status.

Daphne Ling said...

Zewt,

No 5: I activate the 'Busy' status when I'm already chatting with some people and don't feel like handling more...

I also activate the 'Busy' status when I'm really busy with some stuff (like alot of reading), but am waiting for more documents to be transmitted by some friends via MSN...

I also activate the 'Busy' status when I don't feel like talking to too many people but can't use the 'Appear Offline' status because my friends' chatting programs cannot handle a chat with 'Appear Offline' people...

Just to name a few...So, you see, there's lots of reasons...

day-dreamer - yup! well done! :)

mar - that is why i am so fed up i dont touch politics anymore...

Michael Song - nope... was in church... better to seek God :)

cc - and they say it's for unity... sigh.

BossCat - yup... that should be the way...

sugarbaby - that's good... let me check it out :) what argument u had on finance?

zewt said...

suanie - really? busy wont get blink blink blink? hmmm... let me try that... so reality is more scary than spirits eh?

Jun - oh, i fail to fathom why some ppl can buy a BMW but cannot pay 4 bucks to park at the car-park but would rather double park and block the way.

Tine - so you fear the boss on earth or the boss in heaven? :)

SuLee - so you're being selective eh? block ppl lor hahaha...

Huei - yeah... i really wonder what happened to namawee... i hope he hasnt been bala-ed...

Spinzer - wahh... too busy to layan others... u superstar eh? hahahaha... exchange msn? drop me a mail.

myop101 - with the boss... money is involved... more substance...so... better be vary... right? :P

zewt said...

missironic - aiyoo... if i ever have u in my chat engine... i will never talk to u... hahaha...

Klaw - certainly... selective chat mode... so bad.

HuntressMoon - why everyone only refer to msn... it can be any type of chat programme right?

adrian - now... that is news... that is news indeed....

j or ji - hahahahaha.... susceptible... hahahahaha... that word has been immortalised!

suituapui - hahahaha... cos i need to write this entry hehe...

Jonzz - selective chat again lor...

zewt said...

Tsu Lin - i think they just wanna talk to those they wanna talk to. but then again, one can always block those unwanted souls...

Kel - for your sidenote... who ask u to put his no here? ex MBSians? were you there at the family day last sat? I was.... and yeah... spam comments... haha... but it's ok.

LG - i fail to fathom why everyone only thinks about msn when i mentioned chat programme. :)

Daphne Ling - hahaha... fair enough... but then again... why only talk about msn? :)

bongkersz said...

5. I don't like MSN. Eh, your Google Chat also always busy.. but online.

4. Haha! Probably the guy wore his jean too low and when he turned, he 'accidentally' showed his ass crack. I heard, being a punk group that antic is normal for their usual fan base. Just, this is a different audience all together. Then again, since when punkers care about their image?

3. No choice?? Still.. must bitch about it mar.. Malaysians :)

2. Oh, I don't see a point of that song and the whole collaboration. I discussed that with bunch of friends in Facebook. Unity?? Ha! Ha! Ha! Embrace and accept the truth, racism exists in Malaysia, then we go from there.

1. Those who loudly proclaim their religions are the worst kind. eg. Francis Yeoh. Wong Chun Wai. (Ok bro, you can moderate this part :P)

Little Jennifer said...

haha~ that was long ago..not really remember the content lor...hahah~

khengsiong said...

#5 - they only have the gut when they act in a group...

myop101 said...

haha...

we try to live in peace as much as possible ma. with the devil, mana ada peace one...:P

missironic said...

wah..not tat bad rite? hahahaa..im not ALL THE TIME on "busy" mode..most of the time im on "online" mode..or occasionally "offline" mode..hahahaa... =P

Anonymous said...

Excellent observations.
Number 5 is exactly what I have been thinking all this while. The fact that they are free enough to go online shows that they are really not too busy right?

And Number 1 is really spot on!

Great post, Zewt!

Angie Tan said...

Number 5 - I put my Busy sign but that means I'm still contactable, just response may be slower. What irks me is my friend who goes online and doesn't put any sign and when I message her, she taruh me for disturbing her and she's very busy!!

Number 4 - truly... brainless

Number 3 - Hmmmmm....

Number 2 - What a joke.. Namewee should have been invited but then, that would cause more controversy?

Number 1 - Ahhh... How true... at times!

Anonymous said...

Number 1
I fail to fathom why some Christians can stand up against the devil himself… able to call upon the name of Jesus to cast out demons but they never dare to even shake their head in front of their boss.

Boss is DEVIL in disquise, they are not sure if its a DEVIL or SAINT! So very hard to tackle

I like number 1. But I believe should not hook the workplace behaviour with religious. You know, in workplace, we deal with some of the most ferocious satan!

khengsiong - huh?

myop101 - hahahahaha... bosses are always the devil eh?

missironic - offline... u hiding ah? hahaha...

angie tan - hahahahahaha.... them your friend must be avoiding u then :P namawee will make the song sell!

Edi - hahahaha... now that is a good come back line.
