Randomly Friday

I gave up my seat to a pregnant lady in the MRT just now… and everyone stared at me as though I tried to detonate a bomb in the MRT…

I guess that’s not a surprise… when I first arrived and had to move around in crutches, I was ignored entirely in the MRT.  One even went into instant slumber as soon as she made eye-contact with me.   You should have seen how she did it… quite outrages.

There were 2 occasions where a seat was offered to me… and both were from Caucasians.

Anyway… have been very busy at work.  Brain seems to tire down quickly here.  Maybe I use my brain more here, or maybe I just don’t have the brain to catch up hence over-worked my brain.

Will be travelling next week… Up… down… meeting… up… down… meeting… meeting… up down… back to office… up down… attend wedding dinner… going to be crazy.

Heard Malaysia just announced in the national budget that a 100-storey tower is to be built.  More money to be spent!  Actually, I already heard about this 6 months ago… someone said it’s another election money raising scheme… oh well, I am just glad I am no longer funding it.

Since import duty on handbags, perfumes and lingerie has been removed… time to go shopping!

Have a good weekend…

it seems to me that this kind of act of curtosy does not exist in ' kiasu-land ' - but yet they are an intelligent and professional bunch! - lol !
In some ways or aspects - we malaysian seem to do well than them.

So we are going to have the No 1 tallest tower in Malaysia?

I can has Chanel bag now. Wheeeee......

Secretly, I think Rosmah drafted the budget. Najib only annouces it.

Handbags, lingerie, perfumes >>> all Rosmah uses.

100 storey building >>> need to accommodate her tall hair.

You won't see something like that on Taipei MRT. Young people will always give the seat to elderly or disabled. And there are special seats reserved for them, painted dark blue and usually they remain empty, even though the train is full. Taiwanese are really polite and well mannered on the MRT. Of course you have the other type, that rides scooters and doesn't stop for you at all.. that's another story, that's Taiwan truly Asia right there :-P

Hence why I will never move to Singapore. Money and materials are nothing if you can't go about with em' decently. Oops,my apologies -- I stereotyped.

I am sure that you are glad about many things. Even your tone in blogging has changed a bit. More lighthearted and carefree.

Not entirely true from my experience. I was in SG a year ago, travelled frequently on the MRT with my 2y/o and there was ALWAYS someone who offered his/her seat to us. It did impress me a lot!

Yeah, most probably for Rosmah's benefit but it's likely she never pay for it even before the budget.

100 storey building? There goes my tax money...

Someone offered me a seat in the packed LRT in KL.. because I was fat and looked like I was pregnant. HAHAHA.. the girl felt so bad after when she realised her mistake. Tsk tsk tsk.

' Are you 100% sure you have the 5b ringgits !?'
" Dun worry ...I am 101% sure lah !!"

Gee..and I thought Singaporeans are more civic conscious than Malaysians..

In Malaysia you will get a seat if you are pregnant or handicapped .

I dont mind if the 100-storey tower is funded by private developers like other countries, but using our taxpayers' money? NO WAYYY! Even though I'd love to have a new glistering skyscraper rising up in our cities.

Oh well, I tried it once in the bus in Singapore. I gave up my seat to an old lady and the rest of the guys seating there pretend to fall asleep! So much so for being educated! Hey I am funding the 100 storey building... so no money to shop! Lol

perkara yang paling i tak suka naik MRT is, iklan 'terrorist'

takut!

then the MRT is too fast, i think.

Bajet 2010, walaupun aku tak pandai, tapi aku dapat rasa ianya tak bagus.

i usually don't sit..cos i duno who to give the seats too. when it comes to pregnant ladies, the disabled or the really very old people, it's easy, but i don't know how to determine if someone is old. some look old, but still very healthy..and it would be like an insult to them to give up the seats, but it would seem uberly selfish to hog the seat..so i chicken out..n stand most of the time XD
