A matter of opinion and a significant tomorrow

Wow!!!! 60 comments at the time of writing! I have not had this amount of comments for quite some time already. And so I have gathered…

You don’t reply to a blunt comment… “Zewt, fark him lah… this fella no respect”
When you reply to a blunt comment… “Zewt stoop so low… Zewt turned defensive”
When you are sarcastic… “Zewt, you’re bragging”

What purple-mushroom said really hit the nail… opinions are like assholes, all of us have one. Some told me to just ask those who disagree with me to f*** off. Well, that is something I don’t promote in AZAIG. All are free to voice their thoughts.

One thing for sure, I am not a capitalist and will never want to be one. My colleagues and former colleagues who know me well enough will testify to that.

Anyway…

Tomorrow is quite a significant day. It will be a day when our incumbent finance minister will announce measures which are supposed to chauffeur us though these turbulent times. One most likely measure is the reduction of employee EPF contribution rate, with the intention to boost consumption.

Whatever it is, I will keeping a close eye on the announcement. It will affect all of us. And based on the 60 odd comments, I can conclude that many consider themselves mid/low income earner so perhaps you should also pay attention on what will be introduced tomorrow.

Another significant event happening tomorrow (or today depending on how you see it), is the final run up on who will be the most powerful man on earth. To me… that is the real match between a capitalist and a somewhat socialist.

Gonna be so interesting…

Actually, I believe the full original quote from Maddox reads:

Opinions are like assholes - everybody has one and it's usually full of shit.

Well, you can't please everyone. Like in the fable about the miller, his son and their donkey, the conclusion is that one should do as one thinks best and let people say what they want.

hur hur, america's standard of socialism is no where near the other world's socialism.
their democrats are not as liberal as the ones in Europe etc
but oh well, let's just hope he'll win

I didn't comment either. Well, when I retired, it dawned on me that I would have to live on my lessn than RM2K pension...and I wondered how I could survive.

But when I think of those doing decent jobs like the waiters/waitresses in coffee shops, the cashiers in the supermarkets, the parking attendants...they can support themselves and their (big) families on an income of RM300-500 a month.

It's all a matter of how you live and a matter of priorities and responsibilities. No short cuts (though there are people who opt for the easy way out and hence the increase in the crime rate!)!

What I'm trying to say is we need the right attitude and work at it (together) to tide thru these difficult times. Grumbling and complaining, finger-pointing and hurling accusations will not help!

Yeap.. Significant day indeed...

Anyway, across the globe, 2 folks are probably not sleeping well tonight.

As for our "Big Boss", lets hope that he can steer us away from the sinkhole but then again, he is in denial, much akin to when the Titanic was deemed unsinkable.. (",)

I was away so I'm not involved. Everyone has their own opinions but sometimes we gotta choose the right one to say to avoid any problems.

Looks like I've got lots to catch-up on, Zewt. Happy reading to me. :)

Ya la some commenters are memang kurang ajar. The best way to deal with them is either silence or by making fun of their (lack of) intelligence by being super sarcastic. It's fun!

I have read countless blogs and comments, and the pattern for those ugly effing comments are too obvious.

Your blog is great. If it isn't popular, and if one beautiful post didn't have any comments on it, those who disagree wouldn't make the effort to say an effing comment.

Just keep it up, no matter what others say.
