I have been plagiarised!

I have encountered several times where my writings have been copied in the net. Some are ethical enough to link the articles back to AZAIG. For those who weren’t ethical, I will usually leave a note that within a day or two, the said article will mysteriously disappear.

But there is this guy who really got to my nerve, whom I felt he has absolutely no respect to the meaning of copyright and originality. He has made plagiarism the way of his life.

Thanks to narrowband, I found out about this particular blogger who has copied not one but several of my entries and made it sound as though they are his. He even copy the pictures as well and did not even have the creativity to change the title of the entries. I am not going to give him a link so you will have to key in his url which is "funkie-renegade(dot)blogspot(dot)com".

Things he has copied might mysteriously disappear but I leave it for you to check out all these screenshots. Click to enlarge.

In the post "Wrong and again I was wrong", he even put on what I believe is the picture of his actual Uni. Anyone formerly from MMU know this guy?

  1. Shame to the person... I wonder if he feels proud about it, pretending that it was his own creation.

    Tsk Tsk Tsk... sungguh memalukan.

  2. He's doing his post grad, and he's out plagiarizing material for his blog. I guess he'll just be prepared for a life of mediocrity.

I especially like how he changes your age to his own age in the article. So 'creative'.

  3. Alamak. How come whistleblower no anonymous protection wan. Haha. Anyway, I tried looking for this guy's email on his site, but no where to be found. It's always wise to display an email in case someone wants to contact the blog owner.

Rmb when I reported I got plagiarized, you said it hadn't happened to you? Heh. Welcome to the club man.

  4. wahhh.. terrer that fella. where's the creativity? Copycat betol..

  5. I agree with your point about ethics.

However, I don't really mind those who had CnP my writings in the blog. In the blog I only writing social matters, political opinions and jokes. It is okay as it is nothing much to shout about as they can read those news in the medias and other blogs too.

But, what I'm most upset are those lecturers who took my powerpoint slides and lecture notes for their teachings and distribution to class participants; that's plagarism.

  6. Got one chinese saying that goes "got no such big head, don't wear such big helmet". If you don't know how to write on your own, don't even think about having your own blog lor. He cut and paste and conveniently treats it like his. Shame on him man! Tsk tsk tsk...totally no respect.

Anyway zewt, do a quick search in facebook, you will be able to msg okay :P

  9. What a pariah! Same thing happened with me, this quy operating a news portal "malaysia.today.com" (not RPK's).

I had to write to him and his web sponsor (Invision Power) asking who makes the advertisment revenue. Invision may have withdrawn the sponsor of the free web by now.
He was even challenging me about copyright laws in Malaysia and challenge me to sue him!

He has got a new sponsor and has the cheek to put up his "copyright" notice on his blog now!

  18. a postgrad research that plagiarise? lol. says a lot about his research. maybe should run a check with any familar referenecs that he conveniently left out. You are not even on his blogroll.

I have checked thru some of his older posts, and seem like he has been copying since forever. I would suggest that you report his ass off to blogspot.

I found his name to be a Mr Mohd Helmi bin Ramlee. His mugshot is here:
    http://bp3.blogger.com/_4MQohenPKK8/SA7NYSw2VWI/AAAAAAAAAmU/ayHhznMeisI/s1600-h/11.JPG

and his identity is found on this post:
    http://funkie-renegade.blogspot.com/2008/04/london.html

and he seems to be working at the Monetary Assessment and Strategy Department of Bank Negara Malaysia.. lol. anyone wanna call them?
