Your say...

Following my criticism on the real intention of big corporation behind their initiative to ‘save the environment’…

Big boss: We are organising a luncheon next week right?

Organiser: Yes boss, you need anything?

Big boss: Yeah. In view of our environmental thingy, I want the caterer to be environmental friendly too. There should not be any non-biodegradable cutleries and plates.

Organiser: Huh?

Big boss: Yeah… No plastic stuff. Paper cups, paper plates, stuff like that.

Organiser: Right boss.
An hour later…

Organiser: Boss, the caterer has reverted. They said they are ok with using environmental friendly stuff to be in line with our campaign.

Big boss: That is good to hear.

Organiser: One thing boss. They said paper cups and all are quite expensive compared to plastic and styro-foam stuff. So there will be additional charge to the cost.

Big boss: [fill in the blanks yourself]

  1. BOSS : so be it. less expensive menu then. cut the dessert.
    (I'm dreaming hahahaha)

  6. Hey the last i blogged was 102 days from my last post. Alot happened. Grandpa in hosp. Was called back from my mission in Iraq under red cross because of this. Was troubled that as a medic there is nothing I could do for my grandpa. Felt a little useless. Despite that, i had to rush my assignments and stuff. Been really tired. Couldn't sleep for 3 nights now. Opened the newspaper and all i see is crap everyday. Well this shit could go on but i don't know how longer i could stand anymore.
by the way the answer to the fill in the blanks would be : (surprise surprise!) ask them to drink from the kettle(soap not environ friendly for own plastic cups.) Wuahahahaha

  7. Big boss: Well, it's time the staff learn to share. Sharing is caring, after all. Shall we say three staff to one mug?

    :P

  8. environment my foot?

anyway, the big boss could always suggest to ask the caterer to bring porcelain/ reusable plates and metal cutlery with reusable plastic cups.

yes, there will be the added labour cost of washing them but it is all a matter of "discussion and negotiation".

seriously, if they care for the environment so much, they should tell the office staff to switch off their computers and lights during lunch break and mandate no work to be done past the official working hours.

Afterall, about 95% of our electricity are generated by buring non-renewable fuel such as gas, coal and diesel.

  9. hahahahahahahahahahahah

"oh..well the environment has just got to wait until paper cups gets cheaper!"

  10. Big Boss: Ok..the extra cost charge will b coming out from you..

    hahahaha..joking..probably Big Boss will say...

Big Boss: On a second thought, since they already have the supplies of plastic and styro-foam stuff ready for us, we don't want to make them do extra work, do we? tell them we will use tat instead of the paper cups..time is limited! we can't waste too much time..

tats the reply im tinking..is it sumting like tis? =P

  13. Tell the big boss to swallow all the bones...!!! Otherwise, they'll be collected in plastic bags and end up in the rubbish bin...and will be sent to the dumpsite...and burnt...and that will cause air pollution!! LOL!!!!!

  14. Hahhaah!!! I bet d boss is not smart enough to ask the caterer to bring non-disposable cutleries but don't mind paying more instead right?? ahahahh!!!

  17. Like someone else suggested, boss can just get one food item off the menu and get paper plates and cups. Spoons will be plastic though.
Don't caterers provide reusable crockery like the type we use at home?
I hope they aren't going to make you guys work overtime to make up for the money they'll spend. :D

  23. Marks & Spencer charge 5p for a bag now. Sainsbury occasionally give out free energy light bulbs and bags for life. Tesco gives you 1 point for every bag you bring yourself. That's a step.

So what did the boss decided in the end?
